You know those Boundaries God gives us? Those small convictions or that still small voice that tells us, “That person is no good for you”, “You shouldn’t be having this conversation” “This person is toxic to your life” “Don’t pursue that job simply because of the money” “Don’t go there” “You shouldn’t be here” “don’t put yourself in this position” or in my case, “Put the chocolate down” and “you shouldn’t have that last glass of wine” haha! We are all given boundaries. Lines we shouldn’t cross. They are given to us by God, not because He is evil or withholding anything from us, but because He is a good God, he gives them to us for our own good. Because He loves us enough to say “NO”, even when it’s not what we wanna hear. Because He knows that our own deceiving hearts will end up destroying us. And yet we still question Him, knowing He only wants the best for us. I had to leard this lesson the hard way. I was disobedient. I saw those warning signs from a distance and decided to ignore them. Don’t we do that? We go against God’s will despite the many warning signs He gives us that we are going in the wrong direction, that we are taking the wrong turn, making the wrong choices. We try to convince ourselves that maybe the Word doesn’t apply to our situation, that maybe there is a loophole somewhere that allows us to do what we want without having consequences. In reality, God is only protecting us. From the enemy. From the world. From ourselves. Because He loves us with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3) Because He wants to bless us with His plans which are way better than we could ever even want for ourselves. (Jeremiah 29:11)  Just like a Father gives rules to His daughter for her own good, God gives us boundaries for our own protection, except they are really guardrails.

Lord help me to align with your will for my life. Help me to be completely satisfied in You, that I don’t fall apart when people walk out of my life. Lord please help me to trust in You better, and wait for your perfect timing, despite my emotions. Forgive me if at times I try to do things on my own. Please keep reminding me that no matter how “good” things may seem, if they don’t align with your truth, they will never be good enough. Help me to not look back, but instead, keep my eyes always focused on You.

“Seek God’s will in all you do, and He will show you the path to take.”- Proverbs 3:6 ❤️
